Friday, October 19th - Departure from your US gateway city. Overnight: Plane

Saturday, October 20th - Your arrival in Toulouse will be met for the short (one hour) drive to the Château. The rest of the day is free to unpack, relax and begin exploring the neighborhood. This evening we will gather on the terrace for drinks before a welcome dinner party. Overnight: Camon

Sunday, October 21st - This morning, you can choose to relax at the chateau or to explore the pre-historic cave paintings at the Grotte de Niaux (please note that walking on uneven subterranean riverbed, and slippery rocks in the cave is necessary for this excursion). The group will meet back at the Chateau at lunch time for an afternoon excursion to Foix. Dinner is included at the Chateau this evening. Overnight: Camon

Monday, October 22nd Today we explore the town of Mirepoix on market day! There will be time to explore one of France’s most exquisite medieval squares, and enjoy a coffee at one of the many cafes. Weather permitting, we will have a picnic lunch at the nearby village of Roquefixade before we head for Montsegur to view the ruined castle. There will be time to make the ascent to the castle (30 minutes), for those who enjoy a hike, or you can enjoy a wonderful respite to take in the views! On our way back, we will stop at the village museum and then return to the hotel for free time before we go to a local restaurant for dinner. Overnight: Camon

Tuesday, October 23rd - Today we head into the high Pyrenees just across the border into Spain. First we’ll visit the charming town of Camprodon and then on to the tiny mountain village of Queralbs where we will have lunch in a local inn and visit the church. This afternoon we wend our way back down, through Ax-les-Thermes to Camon. Tonight dinner is included again at the Château. Overnight: Camon

Wednesday, October 24th - Today we travel across the Ariège countryside to the Romanesque abbey of St. Hillaire. Then on to Limoux where there will be free time for shopping before continuing to the Gayda vineyard where we will have a gourmet lunch. After lunch, we will tour the vineyard and estate, ending with a tasting of their excellent produce. The rest of the afternoon is free at the Chateau, you can choose to eat at the hotel again or venture out to a local restaurant in nearby Mirepoix. Overnight: Camon

Thursday, October 25th Today we visit the stunning medieval fortress of Carcassonne. We will visit the beautiful St. Nazaire church and you will have time to visit the inner fortress, Château Comtal, and to wander the narrow alleyways. After time for lunch, we’ll return to Camon where you will have a free evening to explore the village. Overnight: Camon

Friday, October 26th - This morning we’ll head to the mountain-top village of Rennes-le-Château. A visit to the parish church will either spark or rejuvenate your interest in Dan Brown’s mysteries, as the church is full of symbols and secret codes. We will stop by Puivert on the way back to the Chateau to visit the Cathar castle. We’ll also visit the Museum of Quercorb (the local name for the surrounding area) in the village. Tonight, a final dinner at the Château, always beautifully presented by master chef Tom. Overnight: Camon

Saturday, October 27th - Reluctantly we will bid farewell to the abbey this morning and head back to Toulouse Airport for flights back to the US.
