Itinerary Highlights

Saturday, September 14th - Upon arrival in Edinburgh you will have time to unpack, relax, and rest before an orientation to the city. The rest of the afternoon is free to unwind before a dinner party at the hotel. Overnight: Edinburgh

Sunday, September 15th Morning tour of Edinburgh including Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, St. Giles Cathedral, the Palace of Holyrood House, and the “New Town”. The afternoon and evening are free. Overnight: Edinburgh

Monday, September 16th - Heading north by train, we’ll pass by Pitlochry and ride in comfort through the Grampian Mountains as we continue up into the Highlands. Afternoon walking tour of Inverness before we have dinner at our hotel. Overnight: Inverness

Tuesday, September 17th - Morning cruise on Loch Ness ending at Urquhart Castle and the Loch Ness Monster Visitor Centre. After lunch we’ll return to Inverness for a free afternoon and evening. Overnight: Inverness

Wednesday, September 18th - Today we take one of the “Great Railway Journeys of the World.” Starting in Inverness, we ride across the country from one side to the other, ending at the Kyle of Lochalsh. After meeting our bus, we’ll visit Eilean Donan Castle, and travel to the Isle of Skye, where we will have dinner at the hotel. Overnight: Skye

Thursday, September 19th - A panoramic tour of Skye including: Dunvegan Castle and Talisker Whisky Distillery. This evening is free in Portree. Overnight: Skye

Friday, September 20th This morning we take the West Highland Line which runs through spectacular scenery and across the Glenfinnan Viaduct down to Glasgow. On arrival, we’ll have free time to explore the city center before we gather again for a farewell dinner at our hotel. Overnight: Glasgow

Saturday, September 21st- Morning transfers to Glasgow airport for return flights to the US.
