Itinerary Highlights

Tuesday, July 9th - Departure from your chosen US gateway city. Overnight: Plane

Wednesday, July 10th - Morning arrival in Palma, Mallorca where you will be met for the transfer to our hotel in Soller. The rest of the day is free to unpack and relax from the flights. Dinner is included at the hotel this evening. Overnight: Soller

Thursday, July 11th - Today, after a leisurely breakfast, your tour guide, Gavin Miller, will take those interested to the beautiful village of Deia, nestled in the mountains south of Soller. We’ll have time to climb up to the church and visit the grave of the poet, Robert Graves, who made the village his home for many years. We’ll continue to nearby Valldemossa and the Carthusian Monastery that was home to Frederick Chopin and Georges Sand in the winter of 1838-9. The evening is free to sample the wonderful family-run restaurants around the main square. Overnight: Soller

Friday July 12th - Today is a free day in Soller. In the evening we will head to Palma, for a poolside Meet and Greet with students currently in TCNJ’s graduate global programs. Overnight: Soller

Saturday, July 13th - Today we visit the charming fishing village of Portocolom where lunch is included at the nearby mountaintop monastery of San Salvador – the best paella on the island. After lunch, we will drive back across the island via the town of Petra, where we visit the Birthplace Museum of Junipero de Serra, a Franciscan friar who established a string of missions along the coast of California. We continue to Soller for a free evening. Overnight: Soller

Sunday, July 14th - After breakfast we will transfer to our hotel in Palma and have a free day in this beautiful city. Overnight: Palma

Monday, July 15th - Today we’ll take a walking tour of Palma, including the fabulous Gothic cathedral and the Moorish Palacio de la Almudaina. Tonight we are invited attend the TED CNJ presentations by students and faculty in the TCNJ Mallorca program. Overnight: Palma

Tuesday, July 16th - This morning we’ll visit the Monastery of Lluc, which has been a center of pilgrimage since the 13th century. We’ll stop in the charming village of Pollenca for lunch before heading back to Palma. Tonight, we’ll have dinner at the traditional Mallorquin restaurant C’an Pedro de Genova, with views of the Tramuntana Mountains and Palma Bay. Overnight: Palma

Wednesday, July 17th - Alas, all good things must come to an end, and this morning we transfer back to Palma Airport for return flights to the US.
